I was just listening to the Flash Gordon theme the other day… the second best thing to happen to the world. Fantastic.
I love Queen. And I love wondering if any of the muy macho types pumping their fists to “We Will Rock You” realize their rocking with the biggest queen since Bowie in his prime?
Freddie is definitely the best thing that ever happened. He was born to be that, couldn’t have been any other way. Thankfully. If you haven’t listened to Golden Boy (it’s on YouTube), you MUST!! again and again. At full volume + some.
Ok, yes, yes, Freddie Mercury is awesome. I agree wholeheartedly, but my point was really all about THE HIGHLANDER.

I used to live in an apartment building on High St. in Eugene called “The Highlander.” I would tell people “It is on the corner of 13th and High.. it is yellow and called the Highland. You can’t miss it, there can be only one.”
Only a few people got that joke.

That may be the most pure expression of ROCK (all caps means business) I have ever witnessed. Also possibly the best pairing of a band and a movie in history.

Is it sad I laughed outloud to robert’s highlander joke? I think I need to stop reading this. Its keeping me from fitting in with people I don’t care about. And that’s what really matters. That and the wine in my hand.
