This should explain a lot about us.

Dane’s parents came to visit us today and while I scored this awesome shawl

and a bunch of other great vintage-y things, Dane was reunited with his comic book collection

and I was taught the proper way to hold the precious, precious comic books, “You’re bending them. HONEY. YOU ARE BENDING THEM.”

I can’t wait to see what his reaction will be when I take them into the bathtub with me.

Oh my god! I’m wearing a shawl right now too! And I ate dinner at 6pm. I’m older than you are, aren’t I? I’m also eating gelato and drinking a beer called Panty Dropper. Who’s old now?!?

Tell the vegan bike messengers I said hello. I love smelly, pasty too-thin white boys. No, wait. I hate them. Wait…fuck you irony! I don’t know what I mean anymore.

LOL! My dad is like that with his autographed baseball. But it never gets old telling him we sold it at a garage sale.

Anyway, I found your blog through Kath’s and was looking at some old posts. You ate those laughing cow cheese wedges and crackers for snack one day. Does that really satisfy you? I am asking b/c the nutritional on the wedges show essentially no protein or anything. My problem with crackers etc, is it is never really filling unless I eat a lot of them! For some reason they seem more popular than the circle ones, even though the circles have more protein etc.. Thanks!

Sorry, actually another question (I know your blog is not a food blog), but do you mind sharing your fav. snacks? Thanks!

Melissa -

We usually eat dinner at 6 or so too. Last night was an anomaly.

And I think I’m probably older than you. I’m 34.

I LOVE GELATO.

Rebecca -

I’ve never had the babybel ones. I should give ‘em a shot.

That snack does satisfy me but I usually have it with a cup of herbal or green tea which helps. Plain yogurt with sliced almonds and cinnamon and some stevia (or honey) works really well but I’m a salty person more than a sweet person so I usually opt for the crackers and cheese. Half an apple with half a tablespoon of peanut or almond butter does a great job of tiding me over, too. Oh! And 8-10 crackers with 1-2 tablespoons of hummus is delicious. Or veggies and hummus. (Veggies are probably a better option than crackers but I just love crackers which is why I am not 120 pounds like Kath. Oh well.)

Today, though, I’m TOTALLY hungover so all I want is to eat tortilla chips and guacamole and drink like 4 diet cokes. But you should not do that. Stay strong for me Rebecca.

[drooling over GI Joe comics]

I’m coming over to read those GI Joes…

PS, does Dane have any of the GI Joe vs Transformer issues?

6 kiala { 02.24.08 at 4:39 pm }

YES HE DOES.

Come over!

7 Dane { 02.24.08 at 4:56 pm }

Nate, I’ve got almost an issue or two of GI Joe vs. Transformers - but not the whole 8 issues set.

However, I do have an almost full set of both GI Joes & Transformers… Plus some awesome old Raiders of the Lost Ark and Blade Runner comics as well.

A few of these belong to my older brothers… but they’re mine now. Nels, consider this a warning… You’ll have to challenge me to one-on-one physical combat to get them back.

I’m moving to Portland.

Yes, move to Portland!

Thank you!

For the record:
GI Joe & Transformers - mine
Star Wars & Battlestar Galactica - Arik

However, I am intimidated by this strange bearded man who lives you, so I will allow them to remain in your possession for the time being.

You should totally finish the Transformers collection.
